Abstract

This article is the result of a Community Service activity that aims to improve English language learning skills independently for class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. This activity was carried out on May 8, 2024, which was attended by 32 participants. This activity was carried out using lecture and practice methods. In this training, students as participants were equipped with: 1) Concept Definition of the Self-Directed Learning Model in English Lessons based on the Merdeka Curriculum, 2) Principles and Characteristics of the Self-Directed Learning Model in English Lessons, and 3) Procedures for setting learning objectives, making learning plans, and how to observe their learning, to providing feedback or evaluation from the teacher.  Overall, the training participants showed high interest, listened well, cooperated, and understood the material provided.
