Abstract

Students' competencies will not develop well if learning is only done in the classroom. Student competencies that are expected by the 2013 curriculum very clearly state that students are expected to be integrative and holistic in mastering competencies to the level of application in real life. The expectation of the 2013 curriculum requires the use of scouting methods that are centered on students namely the scientific method and the scouting method. For in the classroom, the teacher uses the scientific method and for outside the classroom uses the scouting method. As stated previously, learning by doing (Learning by Doing) is not a new theory. In scouting, the method of learning while doing is a must for teachers and scout coaches. Through this method scouts can repeat a scouting skill until they memorize it and can do it. In the end, Structured repetition and habituation will produce good-skilled behavior.
