Kemampuan Menulis Berita pada Siswa Kelas VIII Semester Genap SMP PGRI 3 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022

Writing is one of the four language skills. Writing is an activity of expressing ideas in written form. The problem in this study is how the ability to write news in class VIII students in the even semester of SMP PGRI Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year, while the aim of this research is to find out the factors that are obstacles in writing news. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, where in this study the authors conducted teaching practice directly to students who were sampled from this study. The population in this study amounted to 145 students spread over 4 classes, while the sample in this study amounted to 30 students. Sampling using stratified proportional random sampling technique. The assignment technique used in this research is by asking students to make news that has been determined. The main technique in this study is the assignment technique while the documentation in observation is a complementary technique. Based on the results of data analysis, an average value of 62.22 was obtained, so it can be concluded that the ability to write news for class VIII junior high school students in the even semester of SMP PGRI 3 Bandar Lampung for the 2021/2022 academic year has received an adequate predicate.
