Abstract

One of the learning English problems in elementary schools is that students still face difficulties in understanding their English subjects. Students find difficulty to memorize English words. Moreover, the method used and the explanation makes them bored. This service activity is training held at SD Negeri 1 Campang, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency. The role play method is a method in the teaching and learning process which aims to make it easier for students to grasp the material provided by the teacher. The role play method can be said to be a fun method for teachers and students. This method also uses various models with the facilities provided. The role play method provides students with the opportunity to practice their speaking skills in different social and functional backgrounds. The results of implementing service activities show that the role play method is effective in increasing motivation in teaching English. Through this service activity you can also get to know a lot of English vocabulary and use it in simple oral communication and make learning fun.  It is hoped that English language teaching training activities like this can continue, so that we can have the opportunity to learn English further and not only in teaching skills but also in other English teaching skills.
