Abstract

Student of Tadris IPS FTIK IAIN Metro is one part of millennial society which is hit by the swift currents of globalization, modernization and strict puritanism. It is feared that this could result in the erosion of a sense of love for local culture or even vice versa, namely primordialism. As prospective teachers must be able to maintain and even develop local culture as long as it does not conflict with religious norms, it aims to strengthen and regenerate the character of the nation's children. The solution offered to overcome this is by providing material understanding of local wisdom-based character education to social studies students so that they realize that local wisdom has important and "sacred" character values ​​in a community setting and has the same good value and is in line with other tribes. the results and benefits of this service include giving an understanding of the values ​​of local wisdom as part of character education to students who are expected to be able to be a preventive measure for the moral degradation of the nation. Students also get the opportunity to explore elements of the local wisdom of the tribe that is their background so they also have an understanding of their customs and culture.
