This Community Service Program aimed to improve junior high school teachers’ competence in developing reading and writing habits, with a particular focus on speed reading skills. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Lampung Provincial Language Center on November 13, 2025, in Bandar Lampung. The participants were junior high school teachers from Bandar Lampung City. The program was implemented through interactive lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in measuring Effective Reading Speed (ERS). The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ reading performance. The average Effective Reading Speed increased from a moderate level in the pre-training stage to a good level after the training. In addition, participants demonstrated positive changes in reading behavior, such as reduced subvocalization and regression, as well as improved ability to identify main ideas and specific information efficiently. These findings suggest that speed reading training is effective in enhancing teachers’ professional literacy skills and has the potential to strengthen school literacy practices.
