Abstract

A person's ability to use Indonesian as a means of oral and written communication is determined by their mastery of Indonesian vocabulary. When teachers and students, the human resources in the field of Indonesian language teaching, have a low level of Indonesian vocabulary mastery, their ability to use Indonesian both orally and in writing also faces significant obstacles, even leading to poor communication. This will have a significant impact on the future learning and teaching of Indonesian at various levels of education. This opportunity will explore several techniques that can be used to develop Indonesian vocabulary mastery so that the goals of learning Indonesian as a means of oral and written communication can be optimally achieved. The results of speaking skills learning using the show and tell method meet expectations for improving student knowledge. This method enhances student knowledge and provides such emphasis that it motivates students to participate more actively in learning.
