Social Studies instruction in elementary schools currently faces a significant challenge: the stigma of being a boring and overly theoretical subject. Yet, Social Studies plays a crucial role in shaping students' positive character and social skills from an early age. This article aims to describe the implementation of an innovative Social Studies learning model based on local wisdom, designed to enhance elementary students' social skills and cultural understanding. The study employed a participatory action approach utilizing an integrated learning design that incorporated elements of traditional games and folklore into the Social Studies curriculum. The results of this community engagement initiative demonstrated a significant increase in students' active participation, group collaboration skills, and understanding of local cultural values. The model proved effective in shifting the Social Studies learning paradigm to one that is more interactive, enjoyable, and contextual for elementary school-aged children.
