Abstract

Literacy culture plays an important role in improving the quality of learning and students’ critical thinking skills. However, its implementation in schools still faces several challenges, such as low reading interest, limited reading materials, and the lack of optimal integration of literacy into the learning process. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ understanding and competence in implementing a literacy culture in the learning process at SMP “A” Kusuma Bangsa Bandar Lampung. The activities included socialization, training, discussions, mentoring, and literacy-based learning practices conducted online through Zoom Meeting. The results showed an improvement in teachers’ understanding of literacy culture, literacy-based learning strategies, and digital literacy. Teachers also demonstrated greater readiness to integrate reading, writing, discussion, and critical thinking activities into the learning process. This activity contributed to improving teachers’ literacy competencies and supported more effective learning while promoting the development of students’ literacy skills.
