Abstract

Tuban has a very strategic location as one of the main ports in Java. Moreover, when Ranggalawe opened the forest of attraction and succeeded in expelling the Tar-tar army as his service to Majapahit. However, disappointed with the decision of the King of Majapahit which was deemed inappropriate to appoint Nambi as patih of Amangkubumi and added to Mahapati's incitement, Ranggalawe rebelled and eventually died at the hands of Kebo Anabrang. Ranggalawe has become an example and is greatly admired by the people of Tuban until now.
