Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

IJLHE: International Journal of Language, Humanities, and Education welcomes scholarly discussion of published articles. Readers and authors may submit comments, questions, critiques, or evidence of errors to help maintain the accuracy and integrity of the published record. This policy draws on the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Submitting Comments and Concerns

Comments should be sent to ijlhe.stkip@gmail.com with the subject line “Post-Publication Discussion.” Submissions should include:

  • The title and DOI or URL of the article.
  • A clear explanation of the comment, question, or concern.
  • Supporting evidence or references, where applicable.
  • The contributor’s name, affiliation, and relevant conflicts of interest.

Comments must address the article’s scholarly content and use respectful language. Personal attacks, unsupported accusations, promotional material, and irrelevant submissions will not be published. Anonymous concerns may be assessed when supported by specific, verifiable evidence.

Editorial Assessment and Author Response

The editor will assess comments for relevance, clarity, accuracy, and scholarly value. Independent expert advice may be sought when necessary. Editors with a relevant conflict of interest will not handle the assessment.

When a comment raises substantive questions, the authors will be invited to respond within a reasonable period specified by the editor. Suitable comments and author responses may be published as correspondence, commentary, or an editorial notice linked to the original article. Publication is subject to editorial assessment. An author’s decision not to respond does not automatically prevent publication of a valid scholarly comment.

The journal may consider concerns raised through external scholarly discussion platforms when brought to the editor’s attention.

Corrections

A correction will be published when an error or omission materially affects an article’s accuracy or interpretation but does not invalidate its main findings. Authors should notify the editor promptly upon discovering such errors.

Correction notices will identify the article, explain the error, and describe the amendment. Notices will be dated and linked to the original article. Where the article files are updated, the changes will be identified transparently. Substantive changes will not be made silently.

Expressions of Concern

The editor may publish an expression of concern when credible questions about an article’s reliability or ethical compliance remain unresolved, particularly when an investigation is ongoing or cannot reach a timely conclusion.

The notice will explain the concerns without presenting unverified allegations as established findings. A subsequent notice will communicate the outcome when sufficient information becomes available.

Retractions

An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its findings are unreliable because of major error, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or other serious research or publication violations.

Retraction decisions will follow relevant COPE guidance. Authors will be informed of the concerns and given an opportunity to respond. The editor may issue a retraction without the authors’ agreement when the evidence warrants it.

Retraction notices will state the reasons, identify who is retracting the article, and link to the original publication. Retracted articles will ordinarily remain accessible and be clearly marked as retracted to preserve the publication record.

Research Misconduct and Appeals

Concerns suggesting research misconduct will be handled under the journal’s Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement:

Requests to reconsider a post-publication decision should be sent to ijlhe.stkip@gmail.com, explaining the grounds and providing relevant evidence. Where appropriate, an editor who was not involved in the original decision will assess the request.
